While quieter than the tourist areas along the coast, Milton is not without its entertainment and shopping. Bands on the Blackwater is a free outdoor concert series held at Jernigan’s Landing in Downtown Milton on Fridays.
The historic Imogene Theater offers live performances and other seasonal events, and Weber’s Skate World is a favorite for roller skating and family fun. There are also plenty of shops and boutiques.
For dining, Blackwater Bistro is a favorite brunch spot in a 100+ year old home, Cosse’s Place offers traditional New Orleans seafood and Cajun cooking at Cosse’s Place, and Golden’s Soul Food and Boomerang Pizza Kitchen are great options for good, casual dining. There is no shortage of inviting restaurants where you can satisfy any craving.
The area is known for its outdoor amenities, especially canoeing, kayaking, and other water activities.

- Blackwater River State Park & Heritage State Trail: enjoy camping, fishing, and various water-related amenities at the park, and hike and bike the winding trails.
- Coldwater Gardens, an outdoor complex with 352+ acres of trails, roads, and private sandbars, with numerous camping and lodging options. Access Coldwater Creek, over seven miles of mixed use trails, hikes, and other amenities.
- Arcadia Mill Archaeological Site, a 42-acre property detailing the history of Northwest Florida is the perfect day outing for the entire family.
